My Manifesto

Just something I wrote fairly quickly off the cuff and will be altering as i think of improvements. Suggestions are welcome.

     Lets get government out of the bedrooms and personal lives of consenting adults and keep them out. Canadian law in general is so archaic and unnecessarily restrictive when it comes to issues dealing with sex. let’s work on changing the laws and bringing about a more sex positive culture.

      Lets legalize prostitution for the solicitor and seller, so it can be regulated and made safer for it’s participants.  Lets take the shame and guilt as well as social stigma away.  Lets give lonely people, the right to be a little less lonely. Why is sex the only thing that is legal to give away for free but not too sell?  Why is it suddenly legal to sell sex if it’s being video taped and sold as porn? so buying porn which was created by filming bought sex is perfectly ok, but just buying sex, no that’s wrong?  Shouldn’t an adult be given the freedom to sell sex should they choose?

     Lets give equal rights to homosexuals.  Homosexuality is a Part of nature found throughout human history, as well as in several species of animals.  So don’t let some religious zealot tell you otherwise!Lets let people be a little bit happier and stimulate the economy.

     Lets stop calling women sluts and ho’s like it’s an insult and not just a lifestyle choice, just as valid as monogamy or abstinence is.  Why is there a general double standard, where guys can be promiscuous and get praised for it where as girls can’t?  Life is short, if being a slut makes you happy than go for it, don’t feel guilty about it, and don’t take shit for it.

     Lets decriminalize marijuana all ready.  And ecstacy as well(a drug that has been shown to be virtually harmless)

     Lets not be afraid to call religion what it is(irrational and delusional) and lets not allow it to run amuck and cause so many problems for the world anymore.  Lets put a halt to the child abuse by parents who indoctrinate their children making them believe in absurdities such as hell, sentencing them to a life full of guilt and fear. These parents discourage their children from thinking freely and logically by teaching them that faith is a virtue.  Children should be taught a variety of different viewpoints and be allowed to decide for themselves objectively.  Lets not forget how religion’s view of sex as something unnatural and imoral has permeated our culture causing dysfunctions in every ones lives.  Lets put an end to tax exemptions and special privileges given to churches and religious organizations who do harm as well as good: brainwashing weak minded people and taking their money. Lets defeat the religious war on science and rational thought and prevent them from perverting education. Lets throw out the bible as a so called moral code and other such books that teach barbaric and outdated systems of morals. Lets stop giving religion respect that it doesn’t deserve.

     Lets eliminate political correctness so that politicians and celebrities can be honest, and they can be human, and they can actually stand for something and not have to worry about people analyzing every word they say for flaws. Lets not elect the candidates that speak in generalities, trying to please everyone equally. Let’s elect the candidate that actually pisses someone off, and doesn’t try to hide it. Let’s not waste time getting caught up in the semantics of what someone is saying, and instead judge them on their core beliefs.

     Lets protect the right to free speech when it comes under fire by religious extremists threatening death and violence. ie: reprinting cartoons of the profit Mohammed as well as any critiques of religion for that matter. Lets stand up to their bullying and silly intolerance. The people who get offended by these types of things act like immature children.  It’s time we stopped babying them.  

     Lets stop glorifying stupidity in our culture.  Lets turn off our fucking TVs when the Jack Ass movies, Religious Sermons, Paris Hilton news reports and President Bush speeches come on and educate ourselves about the real issues.  The more we get distracted by this garbage, the easier it is for the people who really know what’s going on to take advantage of us.  But we don’t care, as long as we have our shiny new toys to play with.  We are turning into a race of cattle.  All the while things keep getting worse.  The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, the environment is going down the tubes… And what about the proposed North American Union that no one is talking about?

Some questions:

     Why the fuck are words like fuck and cunt still censored and why is nudity and sex still censored when graphic violence is pretty much given free reign in our culture. What do you think might have a greater negative impact on children, the first 3 or the last? Stop faking outrage if a boob comes on the TV. Stop wasting time worrying about someone saying fuck, if you don’t like it turn it off, start worrying about the real issues like saving the environment.

     And what the fuck is up with the conservative government wanting to elect senators? Stop wasting time and tax dollars trying to forward your conservative agenda by getting rid of liberal senators. We don’t need an elected senate, we all ready elect members of parliament. We don’t need to waste tax dollars on having two sets of elections. The system is fine the way it is. It has worked well for this long. Oh yea, but we do need equal representation for all regions of the country which needs to be fixed in the lower house as well. We also need to get a mixed-member proportional voting system (MMP) passed(If you don’t know what this is educate yourself about it)And get serious on the environment all ready and stop ignoring your responsibilities and fucking over future generations. It’s a good thing you guys only have a minority and don’t have more power to fuck things up.

     Yes we are all going to have to suffer a bit in the near future so that we can have something left of our planet in the distant future. But we can’t do it on our own as individuals, We need the help of government and big business. Drastic action needs to be taken now, whether it’s putting tougher restrictions on polluters or investing more in green technology. And just because the arctic is melting doesn’t mean we should consume all of it’s oil resources like we have done with rest of the world and speed up global warming even further. The oil won’t last forever, we should save it for important things like manufacturing plastic, and not burn it all of it away in our cars and lawn mowers like we’ve been doing.

     At a local level and on a lighter note lets spend more money on our transit system without uping the cost and have buses and skytrains running 24 hours a day with bars and clubs staying open all night.
